Hourly & Event Nanny

A nanny booked by the hour to look after children at office events, weddings, family gatherings and seminars, or during a hotel or villa stay. Families can book one for just a few hours too.

Office events and family occasions often share the same problem. The parents want to be there properly, and the kids are bored within half an hour. An hourly nanny, often called an event nanny, looks after the children and keeps them busy while the event runs, then hands each child back to their parents when it's over.

This is a booking for a set number of hours, not a monthly placement. Companies, event organizers, hotels and villa managers book it, and so do families.

What the nanny does on site

  • Supervises play in the kids corner or a room set aside for children, and makes sure no child wanders off alone
  • Runs coloring, block building, story time or games from the activity list you give
  • Sits with the children at meals and snack time, following any allergy or food notes
  • Helps toddlers to the toilet or changes diapers, using supplies the parents bring
  • Counts heads regularly, especially when moving rooms or when the event gets busy
  • Hands each child back to a parent or to the adult you've named

Common bookings

  • Office events, such as family days, staff gatherings or seminars where participants bring their kids
  • Weddings and family events, for example a kids corner at the reception, a big family get-together or a thanksgiving gathering (syukuran)
  • Hotels and villas, for guests staying with children who want a dinner for two or need to attend a meeting
  • Families, for a few hours while the parents go to a wedding, a meeting or anything else that's hard to do with children in tow

What to prepare

The more we know, the better we can match the nanny to your event. When you book, tell us:

  • how many children there are and their ages
  • the location, date, and start and finish times
  • a safe play area away from guest traffic, such as a small room or a corner that can be closed off
  • the planned activities and the supplies available, like a low table, coloring materials or toys
  • allergies, medication and any special habits for each child
  • names and phone numbers of the parents or an emergency contact who can be reached during the event

For events with lots of children, we'll help you work out how many nannies to book based on the number and ages of the children and the size of the area.

How booking works

  1. Tell us what you need through the partnership form or WhatsApp. Families can also use the hiring form.
  2. We check nanny availability in your city and explain the rates.
  3. The booking terms, such as hours, duties and what happens if the event runs late, are agreed before the day.
  4. We recommend the nanny arrives before the children do, so she has time to see the play area and get a short briefing from you.

About rates

We don't list hourly rates here because they depend on the length of the booking, the number and ages of the children, the location and the timing. We explain the details in a free consultation, before you decide anything. Hourly bookings have their own terms, agreed for each booking, which are separate from our monthly placements.

Q&A

How is this different from a regular nanny?
A regular nanny works for your household on an ongoing basis, under an employment agreement made directly between you and her. An hourly nanny is booked only for a specific event or a few hours, on terms agreed for that booking.

Can I ask for an English-speaking nanny?
We'll look for one, subject to availability, for example for an international company's event or a family on holiday in a Bali villa. Mention it early, and have a look at our guide for expats as well.

Can the nanny give medicine?
Only with written instructions from the parents. If a child has a fever or seems unwell, the nanny contacts the parents or the emergency contact you've given straight away.
