Personal Driver

A family driver for school runs, the commute, doctor's visits and even long trips home for the holidays. Must hold a valid SIM A (Indonesian car license).

School drop-off at six in the morning, then you to the office. Pick up the kids at noon with a stop at their tutoring class, and later take your parents to their hospital checkup. In a big city, that route can happen almost every day. A personal driver, often just called the family driver, keeps the schedule running without you having to fight the traffic yourself.

What a personal driver does

  • Daily pickups and drop-offs for the whole family
  • Car care: cleaning, tires, oil, coolant and fuel
  • Reminders for servicing, vehicle tax and registration
  • Careful driving, especially with children or seniors aboard
  • Help carrying shopping and luggage
  • Keeping what the family says in the car private

What we'll ask when you place a request

To match the right candidates, we usually ask what kind of car you have (automatic, manual or electric), your daily routes, start and finish times, and how often you travel out of town. If your family drives home for Lebaran (the annual "mudik" trip), tell us that too. Not every driver is comfortable spending hours behind the wheel on the holiday routes.

Live-in or live-out

A live-in driver usually also helps look after the house and is on hand if something comes up late at night. A live-out driver comes in for set working hours. For overtime, such as waiting until a late event ends, it's best to agree on overtime pay or a meal allowance from the start.

Common questions

What license does the driver need?
A valid SIM A, the standard Indonesian license for private cars. We also note each candidate's driving experience, and you can ask for a short test drive during the interview.

Who pays for fuel, tolls and parking?
Usually the car owner. The tidiest setup is a weekly cash allowance for running costs, with a record of what was spent.

Our selection covers an interview, an ID document check and screening for the role. Details are on the About page. For placement fees, the guarantee and the optional membership, see the FAQ. Ask for driver candidates here.
